No, you should stand your ground against

lies and boycott the conspiracy theories

After reading Mr. Wilson’s letter published April 13, I'm appalled by how China has been misunderstood and victimized by conspiracy theories.

The letter claims that "China (is) in its quest for global hegemony". However, China has never invaded other countries, nor has it occupied an inch of land of the others. Has China ever sailed its navy ships or flied its spy planes along the coast of the U.S., at a distance of less than 60 miles? or has it sold weapons to Hawaii or Alaska in a bid to split it from the States? China would never say it won't let U.S."become the world's most powerful, wealthy country", and it would never provide funding for American activists whose mission is to bring about regime change in the U.S..

The core question is whether the U.S. is willing to acknowledge the worlds's diversities and seek co-existence with nations of different historic and cultural background. Americans are proud of their national achievements after winning independence from U.K., however this does not automatically place the U.S. on a higher ground than others. Just as humans are born equal, no country shall be in a position to act in a domineering way in a free world.

Competition is not a rare thing in human history. But at the end of the day, countries are competing to be a better self other than to weaken others by tripping them up. Unfortunately, what the international community sees these years, is a country that is mobilizing its power with a whole-of-government strategy to confront China every step of the way. Among the techniques it adopted is the atrocity propoganda, such as the alleged genocide or ludicrous forced-labor stories in China’s Xinjiang region. The hidden agenda is to make China look evil. These alternate facts, fabricated by a few ill-intentioned conspiracy theorist, and based on flagrant data abuse, fraudulent claims, cherry-picking of source material, and propagandistic misrepresentations, are completly at odds with what is going on in Xinjiang, a place visited by over 100 million people from other parts of China and the world annually.

We have just witnessed how much destruction those obsessed with conspiracy theories could do to a country’s domestic politics. Nobody knows what it would bring to us if it intrudes on international relations. What people shall stand ground against, are lies and conspiracy theories.
