China, U.S. to advance agricultural cooperation
2009/10/27

China and the United States should promote a mutually reciprocal cooperation on agriculture from a strategic perspective, said Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu on Tuesday.

In a meeting with U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, Hui called on the two countries to enhance trade on agricultural products and scientific research, and to contribute to improving world agricultural industry and food security.

Vilsack said he was impressed by China's development, and hoped the two countries continue to expand agricultural cooperation.

Vilsack is here to attend the 20th meeting of the China-U.S. Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade (JCCT) to be held in Hangzhou.
