On December 19, 2019, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Cui Aimin and Undersecretary for Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tamim bin Majid al-Dossari of Saudi Arabia held the sixth round of consular consultation between China and Saudi Arabia in Riyadh. Both sides mainly exchanged in-depth views on such topics as facilitation arrangements for relevant personnel exchanges, Chinese citizens' travel to Saudi Arabia, pilgrimage, the safety and legitimate rights and interests of Chinese and Saudi Arabian citizens and institutions, and reached extensive consensus. The two sides decided to further improve the communication and consultation mechanism, strengthen publicity and education for both countries' citizens, gradually solve problems in personnel exchanges, consolidate the foundation of friendship between the two peoples, deepen practical cooperation in various fields and push forward the development of bilateral relations.
