On November 14, 2019 local time, the BRICS Leaders' Dialogue with the BRICS Business Council (BBC) and the New Development Bank (NDB) was held in Brasilia. President Xi Jinping, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa attended the dialogue.

The leaders of the five countries heard the work reports of the BBC and the NDB, received the annual work report of the BBC, and made remarks respectively.

Xi Jinping spoke highly of the work of the BBC and the NDB and expressed the hope for them to promote the enterprising spirit, strive for more achievements, and make greater contributions to the economic and social development of the BRICS countries, emerging markets and developing countries.

Xi Jinping stressed, the two institutions should continue to deepen cooperation in fields such as innovation and the digital economy and create more quality projects. The BBC and the NDB need to strengthen synergy and efficiency as well as coordination and cooperation with internal and external cooperation mechanism under the BRICS, and help countries improve their business environment by continuing to offer advice to government. Xi Jinping underscored the importance to balance economic profits with social responsibilities and pay attention to the people's well-being. Cooperation should be strengthened in building high-quality, sustainable, inclusive and accessible infrastructure, and green technologies should also be explored and promoted. Xi Jinping underlined the need to strengthen internal construction, and work for better policy and research capability, and urged the NDB to prepare for membership expansion.

In their respective remarks, leaders of other BRICS countries all recognized the work of the two institutions and expected them to strengthen the capabilities of the BRICS countries as well as the emerging markets and developing countries at large to raise fund for infrastructure and sustainable development projects.
