Li Keqiang Meets with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan

On the afternoon of September 11, 2019, Premier Li Keqiang met at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, who was paying a state visit to China.

Li Keqiang expressed, Kazakhstan is China's friendly neighbor and comprehensive strategic partner. The two countries enjoy solid political mutual trust, fruitful practical cooperation and a time-honored friendship between the two peoples. President Xi Jinping held talks with Mr. President and jointly planed for the future development of bilateral relations. The Chinese side is ready to better align the Belt and Road Initiative with the Kazakh side's development strategy, uphold the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, and deepen all-round cooperation, in a bid to jointly safeguard regional peace and stability and bring more benefits to the two peoples.

Li Keqiang pointed out, cooperation between China and Kazakhstan is based on mutual trust, geographical proximity, huge potential and broad prospects. The Chinese side is ready to expand cooperation with the Kazakh side in areas including energy, production capacity, nuclear power, finance, science and technology, make good use of cross-border e-commerce platforms, expand bilateral trade, share development opportunities and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the People's Republic of China on the 70th anniversary of its founding. He said, China is viewed as an important strategic partner of Kazakhstan. The Kazakh side is very satisfied with the current situation of bilateral relations, and is willing to actively participate in the joint building of the Belt and Road Initiative, deepen cooperation in various fields, expand exports of Kazakh products to China, and intensify bilateral people-to-people and cultural exchanges in youth and tourism, so as to promote the sustained, healthy and stable development of bilateral relations. Chinese enterprises are welcome to invest and run business in Kazakhstan.
