On September 3, 2019 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who was paying a visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), made a special tour to Anju, South Pyongan to visit the cemetery for martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV), mourning with deep grief the deaths of the CPV martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the War to Resist the United States (US) Aggression and Aid Korea.

The cemetery in Anju houses the remains of 1,156 CPV railway soldiers who lost their lives in the battles along the transportation line of the Chongchon River during the War to Resist the US Aggression and Aid Korea.

On the simple and unadorned stone gate at the entrance of the cemetery for martyrs, "the Cemetery for Martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army" is carved in both Chinese and Korean. The DPRK military band played the national anthems of China and the DPRK. Staff members of the Chinese Embassy in the DPRK carried the flower basket to the platform. The ribbon reads "The Martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army Are Immortal." Wang Yi led the delegation to pay the highest respect to the martyrs. They looked at the wall of honor with reverence, to remember the immortal contributions of the CPV martyrs.
