Wang Qishan Meets with Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Khafizovich Kamilov of Uzbekistan

On August 19, 2019, Vice President Wang Qishan met with Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Khafizovich Kamilov of Uzbekistan at Zhongnanhai.

Wang Qishan said, Uzbekistan is a country with long history since ancient times on the Silk Road. China-Uzbekistan relations have been running at a high level for the past 27 years since the establishment of diplomatic relationship between the two countries. Cooperation in various fields has been steadily deepened under the strategic guidance of the two Heads of State. Both China and Uzbekistan are committed to realizing national prosperity, national rejuvenation and people's happiness through reform and opening up. The higher the goal is, the more important it is for us to have an accurate sense of timing, to stay focused and patient, and to achieve the strategic goals step by step. China and Uzbekistan should continue to firmly support each other, enhance experience exchanges on state governance and administration, deepen all-round cooperation and strengthen communication and coordination through multilateral platforms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Abdulaziz Khafizovich Kamilov said, Uzbekistan and China enjoy a profound friendship, high mutual trust and broad space in cooperation. Speaking highly of the Chinese side's efforts for regional development, cooperation, security and stability, the Uzbek side is ready to work with the Chinese side to promote practical cooperation in connectivity, the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative and other fields, and consolidate and well develop the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China.
