Wang Yi Meets with Diplomatic Adviser to the President of France Philippe Étienne

On January 23, 2019 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Diplomatic Adviser to the President of France Philippe Étienne at the presidential palace in Paris on the sidelines of the 18th session of the consultation of the coordinators for the China-France Strategic Dialogue in France. Wang Yi said that on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, the Chinese side is willing to work with the French side to strengthen coordination, intensify cooperation and inject new connotations into China-France comprehensive strategic partnership, so as to make it always keep its vitality and constantly move forward. As China and France are both permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, under the current complex and volatile international situation, the two sides should deepen strategic cooperation to provide more positive energy for the world.

Philippe Étienne expressed that the French government attaches great importance to France-China relations and hopes to witness new development of France-China comprehensive strategic partnership in 2019. The French side stands ready to work with the Chinese side to inject new impetus into bilateral relations and intensify coordination and cooperation in multilateral affairs.
